Questions

Why do results differ from my local machine?

This query runs from our server using its resolver. Your machine may use a different resolver, may be behind a split-horizon DNS setup, or may still be holding a cached answer. TTL values in the results tell you how long any cache is entitled to hold each record.

What is a CAA record for?

It names which certificate authorities are permitted to issue certificates for your domain. CAs are required to check it before issuing. Publishing one is a cheap, high-value control against mis-issuance.

Why does my TXT record look split up?

A single DNS string is limited to 255 bytes, so longer TXT values such as DKIM keys are stored as several strings that resolvers concatenate. The results show the joined value.
